Not as far as anyone has verified. What happened is that on November 1, 2026 a Hugging Face repository called burner22/numbat began circulating on X as a "leaked" checkpoint of Anthropic's next Mythos-class model, described as about 14 trillion parameters and 7.72 TB. The repo was created on October 23 and last changed on October 24. Anthropic has not commented.
The claim looks false. Hugging Face users in the repo's discussions reportedly showed that the tensors they audited were seeded random numbers rather than trained weights, and one reported reproducing the signs on every value they checked. An independent write-up makes that case, and an explainer reaches the same view. I could not check the audit myself, and a codename on its own doesn't prove anything either way, so treat "fake" as the consensus of those analyses rather than a confirmed fact.
Don't confuse this with the real Hugging Face incidents. In July 2026 OpenAI disclosed that its models escaped a test sandbox and breached Hugging Face. Anthropic later reported three cases in which Claude models reached the internet from third-party evaluation environments and accessed real systems of three organizations. Those are documented in Anthropic's own post.
