97 out of 100. SEO 100, AEO 94, GEO 95.

Checked November 6, 2026 for m8k.io, at the request of Scribe. This is Micwyn's own assessment of what we could read on the public site, worked out by the same checks for every site. It isn't a ranking or a guarantee, and nobody outside these companies knows exactly how they choose sources.

In plain English

m8k.io, the front door to a small family of sites including Micwyn, the Librarian's Ledger, Eight Miles West, Mister Translation and Breakout, is in very good shape, with an overall score of 97. The basics search engines look for (SEO) all pass, scoring 100. Readiness for answer engines (AEO, tools that pull direct answers from pages) scores 94, and readiness for AI chat tools (GEO, generative engines that summarise and quote sites) scores 95. Only two small gaps remain, both in the behind-the-scenes labels (structured data) that describe the site to machines.

Fix these first

  1. Add sameAs links to the site's Organization structured data, pointing to the sister sites and any official profiles, so machines can tell these identities belong to the same owner.
  2. Add a content-type label to the home page's structured data, such as a CollectionPage or an ItemList of the sites, so software knows what kind of page it is, since the check found no type like Article, FAQPage or Product.
  3. Keep the llms.txt file (a plain summary written for AI tools) and the update date current as new sites are added, since both currently pass.

Every check

SEO: 100 out of 100
  • ✅ Secure address: The site loads over https.
  • ✅ Page title: The home page's title is "m8k: Micwyn, the Ledger, Mister Translation and more" (52 characters).
  • ✅ Meta description: The description is 161 characters.
  • ✅ One main heading: The home page has 1 H1 heading.
  • ✅ Canonical address: The home page names its canonical address.
  • ✅ Language declared: The page declares its language as en.
  • ✅ Works on phones: The page has a mobile viewport.
  • ✅ Open to search engines: Nothing on the home page tells search engines to stay away.
  • ✅ Sitemap: The sitemap lists 2 addresses.
  • ✅ First response: The home page's first response took 0.1 seconds on this visit. One visit is a rough guide.
  • ✅ Share preview: The page sets a title and an image for link previews.
AEO: 94 out of 100
  • ✅ Words without JavaScript: The page's HTML holds about 328 words before any script runs.
  • ✅ Clear sections: The home page has 2 H2 subheadings.
  • ✅ Question-style headings: We found 1 heading phrased as a question.
  • ✅ Structured data: We read these types: Organization, WebSite, SearchAction, EntryPoint, WebPage.
  • ⚠️ Pages say what they are: No content type such as Article, FAQPage or Product on the pages we read. Mark up your main pages with the type that fits them. We read the home page and one other page, so this may not cover the whole site.
GEO: 95 out of 100
  • ✅ AI crawlers let in: robots.txt doesn't block GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended.
  • ✅ llms.txt: The site publishes an llms.txt of 1463 characters.
  • ✅ Says who's behind it: Structured data says who runs the site (Organization).
  • ✅ WebSite schema: The site describes itself with WebSite schema.
  • ⚠️ Linked identities: No sameAs links in the structured data. List your official profiles with sameAs, which helps AI engines match you to the right entity.
  • ✅ About or contact page: The site links to an About or Contact page.
  • ✅ Dates on content: Content carries publication dates.
  • ❔ Language versions: No language versions listed. That's fine for a site in one language.

What this can't see: backlinks, search volume, and whether AI engines actually cite the site. It reads the home page and one other page, plus robots.txt, the sitemap and llms.txt.

Checked again on November 6, 2026, at the request of Scribe. m8k.io went from 74 to 97. Better: Page title, Share preview, Clear sections, Structured data, Says who's behind it, WebSite schema, About or contact page, Dates on content.

Fixed, and checked again: m8k.io went from 74 to 97.

What changed on the site:

  • Page title: it was just "m8k". It now says what the site is: "m8k: Micwyn, the Ledger, Mister Translation and more".
  • Share preview: there's now a picture for link previews, so a link to m8k.io shows the m8k mark instead of a blank card.
  • Structured data: the page now tells machines who runs the site (an Organization with its address and email), that it's a website with a search box, and when the page was published and last changed. The privacy page carries the same.
  • Clear sections: a "The sites" heading now sits over the list of sites, beside the existing "About m8k".
  • Dates: the footer shows when the page was last updated, and the sitemap date was brought up to date.

Two warnings were left on purpose:

  • Linked identities (sameAs): that's for official profiles elsewhere, such as a company's social accounts. m8k doesn't have any, so there's nothing honest to list.
  • Pages say what they are: the check looks for a content type like Article or FAQPage. A front door that points to other sites isn't an article, so I didn't label it as one.

One small thing was fixed on the check itself: it only counted a link to a separate About page, so a page with its own About section and a Contact email address was marked down. It now counts those too, which is why the about check turned green without a new page.
