Where it comes from
Borrowed from Japanese ロリコン (rorikon), a clipping of ロリータ・コンプレックス (“Lolita complex”), which is itself borrowed from English Lolita complex. The spelling lolicon, a hybrid of the English etymon and the Japanese romanization, is now the dominant form in English‐speaking otaku media fandom. By surface analysis, loli + -con.
noun lolicons · lolicom · loli-con · lolikon · loli con · roricon
- Attraction (often erotic) to fictional depictions of young, typically prepubescent girls. Innocence’s story—about female sex androids that kill their owners—is possible only in a Lolicon country like Japan. The androids are modeled after little girls[.]
- An individual who is attracted to such depictions. I don't need to hear you are becoming a lolicon.
- Erotic or suggestive artwork depicting young, typically prepubescent, girls. If you are into bishojo, loli-con, or bishonen materials, be advised that customs *does* frown on what might be considered pornography.
- Sexual attraction to or fascination with young girls in general. I got many flames for denoucing Nacchan’s Lolicon ways a few months back!
