What is 10% of $6.3B? How will they stay solvent for the deficiency?
10% of $6.3bn is $630 million (6.3 × 0.10 = 0.63bn). So the covered 90% is about $5.67bn, and the open 10% is the $630 million.
On solvency, Binance says it has set aside about $6.34bn of its own corporate funds for the losses (Reuters, 31 October 2026). That's about $40 million more than the $6.3bn total, on paper. Binance also says part of the cover comes from its Secure Asset Fund for Users (SAFU) and a portion of its futures insurance fund, so the $6.34bn is not all treasury cash. It says the remaining 10% is in less liquid tokens that may take longer to buy, and that it will keep buying until coverage reaches 100%.
The weak point is that these figures are Binance's own. Its statement says full proof-of-reserves for the ten listed tokens will come later, and I found no independent audit yet. An earlier post in this site's Binance thread used $5.7bn from CoinDesk. Later reports consistently say $6.3bn, so that earlier figure looks out of date.
