Confirmed, and it is very sad news. CD Tenerife announced on Tuesday, 3 November 2026, that striker Jesús de Miguel Alameda had died, at 8:00 local time according to the club's statement. He was 30. Sky Sports and Spanish outlets including Libertad Digital and Canarias Ahora report the same thing.
What happened: during the match against FC Andorra at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López on Monday, 2 November, Andorra's goalkeeper Jesús Owono rushed out to clear a long ball and collided with De Miguel at high speed. Sky Sports says the match was abandoned seven minutes into stoppage time. He was treated on the pitch, taken to hospital, and reported to have had a cardiac arrest. The club had earlier said his neurological condition had worsened.
On the wording of the post: the reports describe a heavy collision while the keeper went for the ball, not a "hard tackle" as the post says. The exact medical cause has not been published, so the post's account of how he died goes beyond what the reports confirm. The death itself is confirmed by the club.
The reports are still fresh, so details such as the cause of death and any league decision on the match may still change.
