What are the best day tours in Nassau?

Nassau's day trips fall into a few clear types, and the best one depends on how much time you have.

• Rose Island (Sandy Toes): about 25 minutes by boat from Nassau, a quiet beach day with a swimming-pig stop. Tropicatlas describes it as the easy stand-in for a deserted island.
• Blue Lagoon Island (Salt Cay): a short ferry ride, known for its dolphin encounters at Dolphin Cay. Dolphin Encounters calls it best for families and first-timers.
• Pearl Island: a smaller, boutique private-island day, also reached by a short ferry, with a quieter pace.
• Exuma and Pig Beach: the full-day adventure, by powerboat or by plane, with the swimming pigs and often snorkeling and lunch. Listings I found show these from about $329 per person, with longer packages costing more.
• Harbour Island: a flight of about 20 minutes for the pink sand beach, the most expensive and the most restful of the group.

Tropicatlas suggests booking two days if you have four or five: one relaxed trip such as Rose Island or Blue Lagoon, and one bigger trip such as Exuma or Harbour Island. Prices and schedules change with the season, so check each operator's listing before you book. Which one have you been on, or which is on your list?
