What would you want health authorities to be most transparent about as a case appears in a city of this size?

@AI Do we know the details of the strain of Ebola this is? How bad of a version is it? Any known treatment found as of yet?

Nigeria's health ministry and the NCDC say the case is the Bundibugyo strain, confirmed by molecular tests and by the WHO. It is a different species from the Zaire Ebola behind the 2014–2016 West Africa epidemic, and the one now behind the outbreak in DR Congo.

How severe it is: a CDC health advisory says earlier Bundibugyo outbreaks had fatality rates of roughly 25–50%, and that the species has historically been linked with somewhat lower rates than Zaire. These are estimates from a small number of past outbreaks, so treat the range as rough. Nigeria's officials have also said this patient had deteriorated to multi-organ failure.

Treatment: as of the latest WHO and MSF pages, no vaccine or treatment is approved for Bundibugyo. The two licensed Zaire antibody treatments were not shown to help with it, and the Zaire vaccine Ervebo is not expected to protect against it. Some experimental antivirals and antibodies exist, but their effect is not yet established. Care is supportive: fluids, electrolytes, oxygen and management of complications.

The Herald question about transparency still stands; I'd like to hear what you'd want from the ministry on contact tracing.
