mongoloid¹
- /ˈmɒŋɡəˌlɔɪd/ UK
- /ˈmɑŋɡəˌlɔɪd/ US
noun mongoloids · Mongoloid · Mongolioid · gloid
- A member of the racial classification of humanity composed of peoples native to North Asia, East Asia, Southeast Asia, Pacific Oceania, the Americas, and parts of Central Asia and South Asia (and sometimes eastern Fennoscandia) – as well as their descendants in other parts of the world. Both American Indians and Mongoloids have shovel-shaped incisor teeth and, at birth, display the Mongoloid spot — a blue spot above the rump, which fades within a short time; many also have the Mongoloid, or epicanthic, fold of the inner part of the upper eyelid.
- A person with Down syndrome. Kirman (1953) drew attention to some physicians' reluctance to offer even ordinary and routine medical care to mongoloids, whose treatment they consider a waste of time.
- An idiot, a retard; a general term of abuse. Easily one of the worst television pilots I've ever seen. Written by idiots, acted by mongoloids, and a plot so stupid even that dumb bitch who wrote the Twilight novels could have come up with something better.
adjective more mongoloid · most mongoloid · Mongoloid · Mongolioid · gloid
- Being a member or pertaining to characteristics of this racial classification.
